In the entire 95-year history of the Academy Awards, only seven women have been nominated for Best Director. Women Directing is a series showcasing most of these trailblazing filmmakers and the films they were nominated for.
Following the death of their well-respected Staff Sergeant in Iraq, Sergeant JT Stanborn (Anthony Mackie) and Specialist Owen Eldridge (Brian Geraghty) find their Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit saddled with a very different team leader: Staff Sergeant William James (Jeremy Renner), an inveterate risk-taker who seems to thrive on war.
